The 5th International Conference on Control and Optimization with Industrial Applications (COIA 2015) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan during 27-29 August, 2015 in Baku State University. The conference was organized by Institute of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University jointly with the Ministry of Communication and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Baku State University. It provided a forum where engineers, scientists and mathematicians from academia, industry and government organizations meet to share ideas on recent advances in all disciplines of science and engineering involving control and optimization.
The well-known scientists of our country and the world were involved in the Organizing Committee and Program Committee. As a result 277 scientists from 26 countries of the world were registered as participants. More than 170 reports were listened on such sections as "Control and Optimization", "Global Optimization", " Shape Optimization ", "Optimization Methods in Identification and Inverse Problems", "Intelligent and Fuzzy Control", "Numerical Optimal Controls", "Telecommunication Systems", "Oil Industry", "Economics" and "Mathematical Modeling" .
The following invited lectures were presented at the plenary sessions: Christodoulos Floudas (USA), Tamer Bashar (USA), Misir Mardanov (Azerbaijan), Yuri Yevtushenko (Russia), Patrick Solé (France), Mahmoud Abdel-Aty (Egypt), Stephen Boyd (USA) and Fikret Aliev (Azerbaijan).
Professors Tamer Basar (USA), Vladimir Larin (Ukraine), Christodoulos Floudas (USA), Stefen Boyd (USA) Yury Yevtushenko (Russia), Kerim Ivaz (Iran) were awarded the Diploma “Guest of Honour”.
